Brain MCP

Give MCP-compatible tools governed access to your company knowledge.

BusinessOS is your governed company brain: the knowledge graph built from CRM, email, meetings and documents. Brain MCP gives approved tools controlled access to that context. The product is evaluated as a Sovereign pilot case by case; the SaaS version is not deployed.

Key Answers

What you need to know about Brain MCP

What is Brain MCP?

Brain MCP is BusinessOS's governed access layer for MCP-compatible AI tools. It exposes your company knowledge graph as MCP tools and resources so approved assistants can retrieve policy-filtered context—with citations back to source records—instead of relying on manual copy-paste.

Is BusinessOS just an MCP server?

No. BusinessOS is a full company knowledge brain: it connects to business systems, builds a governed knowledge graph, and enforces access policies. Brain MCP is one access path—MCP-compatible tools can query the brain through governed tools and resources. BusinessOS also supports other approved bridges and APIs depending on your deployment.

How do approved AI tools query BusinessOS?

An approved MCP-compatible tool sends a query through Brain MCP. BusinessOS evaluates the user identity, role, and data sensitivity rules, retrieves only authorized records from the knowledge graph, and returns policy-approved answers, citations, and context. Every request is evaluated—not a bulk data export.

Which tools can connect?

BusinessOS is built for MCP-compatible tools your organization has approved—such as Claude and Cursor in supported configurations. Your team chooses which assistants connect; this is not an open hook to every public chatbot. Integration availability depends on your approved tool list and deployment scope.

How It Works

From knowledge graph to cited answer

Every Brain MCP request follows a governed path through your company brain.

01

Knowledge graph

BusinessOS structures entities, relationships and source records from connected systems into a governed graph, evaluated with you during a pilot.

02

Governed MCP tools

Brain MCP exposes approved query surfaces—tools and resources—that MCP-compatible assistants use instead of pasting raw context.

03

Policy checks

Each request is evaluated against user identity, role scope, and sensitivity labels before any record is retrieved.

04

Cited, audited answer

The tool receives policy-approved context with citations to source records. Query events are logged for governance review.

Example Flow

A governed query in practice

Example prompt in an approved MCP-compatible tool

“What commitments did we make to Acme Corp in our last three client meetings?”

What happens behind the scenes:

  1. 1
The tool authenticates the user and sends the query through Brain MCP.
  2. 2
BusinessOS checks role scope—can this user see Acme Corp account data?
  3. 3
Policy engine filters meeting notes and CRM records by sensitivity labels.
  4. 4
Governed retrieval returns cited excerpts from authorized sources only.
  5. 5
An audit event records the query, user, tools used, and sources returned.

Example shown with an approved MCP-compatible tool. Actual outputs depend on connected systems, policies, and user permissions.
